I love being a mama, my husband on most days, and coffee right after my early morning workouts.
I love a good book, naps, roller derby, and snowboarding. I wish that I was a photographer, and pretend I am one whenever I can. I’m a wanna-be crafter and DIYer and wish I could pay the bills doing just that. I’m addicted to black, stretchy workout pants, and I live in tank tops and zip-up hoodies. I love all jam bands, but especially Phish, Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, The Grateful Dead and all jamgrass. I’m not afraid to rock out to some good old school punk like The Misfits and Sex Pistols, and have been know to sing along to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer when I think no one’s looking.
Huh… by the sound of it, I’m never going to grow up.
I have worked with developmentally disabled adults as a vocational supervisor, and as a birth doula and childbirth educator. I’m certified to teach childbirth hypnosis. I’m currently the bookkeeper for my family’s construction business. I should has listened to my mom when she pleaded with me to take at least one business or accounting class in college.
I’m from the pretty part of Michigan via the North side of Little Rock, Arkansas. I’m an only child who rushed to Colorado as fast as I could after high school, met a cute boy, and hasn’t yet left. I traded in lakes and boats for mountains and climbing gear, and one small town for another.
The boy and I met when we were the ripe old age of 18. I’m now pushing 40, and like I said, most days we get along as well as we did when we were bright-eyed and kidlet-free (and didn’t creak and pop when we get out of bed each morning). We loosely follow a paleo diet, with a strong emphasis on local, organic, grass-fed, and free-range. Until this spring, we had been vegetarians for over 20 years. We have three amazing, talented, crazy, beautiful, wonderful, and sometimes downright annoying children, and a smattering of dogs, cats, and chickens.
I want goats.
